ABC’s to the Next Level...

This is WAY too cool for school! I was surfing around and found this Vintage Alphabet dinning series by ORE Original featured on Swiss-Miss’s site. I love the design and educational aspect of this set. It’s clear, easy to read for the kids and esthetically pleasing on the dining room table. I would personally use the lunch bag to carry my own lunch to the office! (at the moment, my office is the kitchen dining table…) As for the quality, I haven’t physically seen one and touched one, but the site said they are BPA free. It seems like all my girlfriends...

Ugly Sweater Saver...

I finally figured out the secret to how ugly sweaters stick around for so long! The owners of those unsightly garments must have a Fabric Shaver. This is a must have tool to keep your knit wear looking new. I picked one up at Superstore for under $10. Of course, it didn’t come with batteries, so plus another 8 bucks for AA batteries. It was totally worth it. I went home and shaved ALL my sweaters! This little device is the “anti-aging” cream for clothing. (If only actual anti-aging cream works that well) All the pill-ies and fuzzies from everyday wear and wash...

Ma Ma Mia! No Pizzeria? Just Limone!...

Holidays are around the corner and it’s time to entertain friends and folks. My girlfriend and I thought some cooking lessons would help us impress our guests, instead of frightening our guests. The Cookshop & Cookschool in City Square caught our eyes with their 3 for the price of 2 promotion. We chose to attend the “Passport to Italy: Rome” class on Friday. This class featured a few recipes commonly found in or around Lazio (Rome), Italy. That evening was a Full House! The school’s kitchen was filled with hungry students, Tuscan tunes and the aroma...

Loving My Timmy!...

GOOOD MORNING GOOOOOOD MORNING! As you can see, I’ve had my Timmy fix this morning. All charged and ready to go. It’s a rarity that I have time for a  Tim Hortons run in the morning. I’m usually too much in a rush to just get out the door, or I wake up too late to catch breakfast. As for today! I was an early bird (another rarity) Stopped by my local Timmy Ho’s grabbed my all time FAVE, the Bagel B.E.L.T. combo Bagel B.E.L.T It’s five fresh layers of breakfast- in one. Freshly prepared for you with two strips of crisp bacon, a seasoned egg patty,...

Double Indulgence Weekend...

Finally back home from my double indulgence Saturday. Woke up with an aching body and a mother of all sore throats, to make things worst it’s a beautiful Saturday with loads of drafting waiting for me. Crawled to the kitchen to make something to eat, checked emails, Facebook, Twitter, etc etc… anything to postpone “work”. All I can think of was “I’m in dying need of a massage!” It’s Saturday, what am I doing working? Picked up the phone and called Eccotique 6:15pm 30 min. Shiatsu @ Eccotique Eh… what the hell, might as well...

Thai Dinner Night...

Who knew Thai Dinner was so simple to make. My girlfriends and I decided we should have dinner together one night. One thing lead to another and we made it a themed dinner. THAI FOOD! Right off the top of our heads was Pad Thai and Tom Yum Soup. We were very lucky to have a personal Southeast Asian “iron chef” to guide us through the process. My girlfriend’s hubby is Malaysian and has strong influences from his parent’s cooking. He offered to make the Pad Thai and Tom Yum. Danny and I have been currently trying to perfect our Thai inspired chicken marinade,...

And then, there were 8…...

Bachelorette Monday continues! My classmate that originally hosted our Bachelorette Mondays, is currently jet setting around Europe with her hubby, so yesterday’s Bachelorette viewing took place at another classmate’s house. Of course, we had a BBQ fest of chicken breast, smokies, toss salad, potato salad, corn, bread and dip, more potatoes and strawberries. YUP… 2 girls can gobble up all that believe it or not. Side note: must have dip of the summer – Artichoke and Jalapeno from Save-on-Foods! Deadly and addictive, I am SO hooked. Last night I also experienced...

Mainly Car Free!...

June 14th 2009 was  Car Free Day in Vancouver. Roads were closed off in 4 locations: Main Street, Commercial Drive, West End, Kitsilano Block Party. Along with Car Free Day the Golden Ears Bridge was opened to pedestrians. On Saturday I was planning to visit Main Street, Commercial Drive and the Golden Ears Bridge on Sunday. Well… I was a little ambitious, cause I only had enough time on Sunday for Car Free Day on Main. I’m not complaining, I had a blast on Main! I couldn’t believe this only happens once a year! This event NEEDS to be at least a monthly thing...

Yoshi & Me...

That’s my dog Yoshi. Last night I finally got the guts to watch Marley & Me. I’ve been holding off on this movie and book for a while, just because of all the comments and reviews I’ve heard. A tear jerker! I grabbed my dog, popped in the dvd and got comfy on the couch. It was great at the beginning of the movie, Yoshi provided some comic relief by lunging at the TV every time Marley came on but towards the end, he realizes that Marley’s not real and laid beside me. That was when I wished Yoshi would still lunge at the tv for some distraction. I...
